Dance music has certainly come in from the wilderness of late, moving from the fields and warehouses of the early 90's, through the club circuit and now on to the arenas, stadiums and headline stages of festivals the world over. The acts are more daring and innovative than ever before, but a lot of this has been down to those behind the scenes helping to make the music happen. In The City Director Yvette Livesey, who developed the original format of the event in partnership with the late Anthony Wilson said, 'In certain areas the music industry still faces huge challenges but in others there is cause for real optimism. High quality music across all genres is still being produced and the emotional value people place on it remains undiminished. We have all had to roll with the punches in recent years, including In The City, but it feels like this has been a positive evolution and whilst we all need to keep fighting for the future of our industry I strongly believe that this industry is back on an upward curve. In The City remains committed to providing the definitive forum for discussion and debate and we are currently in the process of putting together the strongest line-up of speakers, panellists and events we have had for years.'
