New York, NY (Top40 Charts/ Wu-Tang International Official Website) - The common definition of "Individual" is either that of a being or characteristic of a single thing or person, or separate and distinct from others of the same kind. Regardless of how you want to see it, The West Coast Killa Beez group known as The Indovizualz consist of Ichie Palmz,
Poison Ivy and Legend and are based out of Southern California, LA and they described the name to mean 'A solo artist as a Group", meaning various flows, styles and contribution from various parties within a unit as a team to make music that is 100% sparked by the beat or music itself. The group members do not consider themselves as rappers but emcees and stay away from words like rap acts as coined within the industry.
Indovizualz are the first group of its kind within the Wu-Tang family tree, and while it is easy to compare them to the likes of say Fugees and Digable Planets due to the structure of the group (One femcee and two male emcees), this type of formation is still a rare one in hip-hop. While Poison, Legend and Ichie Palmz are on the forefront and carrying the name, Indovizualz is also a larger and bigger family which has been in existence for over 15 years now. The group's leader Legend was around when the Black Knights were signed with by The RZA but missed out due to a number of reasons covered in this interview. A couple of years and missed opportunities, Legend recouped, got his group back on again, connected with the Black Knights and the Indovizualz have not looked back since then. Playing a vital part on the resurgence of the West Coast Killa Beez (also known as Killa Bee Gang), the Indovizualz kept it moving and did it moving with a number of collaborations, shows, side projects and events as well as independently releasing the successful and highly sort after debut album in 2009 "D.I.M K.I.M = Do It Move'n Keep It Move'n" which featured the likes of Black Knights, Dexter Wiggles, The Committee, Warcloud and so on. From the art work to the selection of beats, topics, styles displayed on the album it is evident the group went out of their way to show and prove that they were far from a one dimensional style group and had something unique to contribute to the Killa Bee Gang, West Coast, Hip-hop, and music in general.
Having aligned themselves with Black Knights and the Black Ball'd movement, Wu-International caught up with each member of the Indovizualz as part of the West Coast Killa Beez Interview Series to find out how the group started, what they are currently working on, the album "D.I.M. K.I.M", their affiliation to the Wu and every thing else the fans have been writing and emailing to find out about the group, Enjoy!!!
