San Francisco, CA (Top40 Charts/ EPIPHYTE RECORDS) - Epiphyte Records is set to release the highly-anticipated TestPress.03 benefit compilation this week. The third in a continuing series showcasing the budding talents of up-and-coming San Francisco electronic music producers, TestPress.03 is also a collection of the best tunes submitted to the Test Press track audition events of 2009.
While every TestPress release is seen as a window into the future of SF's electronic music scene, this one holds special meaning to the Epiphyte Records and Test Press teams.
'It was one of those days where everything stops, ' says Joel St. Julien, member of featured TestPress.03 artists Ellul, about the moment he heard of the January 2010 Haiti earthquake. As a native-born Haitian with deep ties to the island, Joel and his band released Ellul's 'Debris' EP immediately following the tragedy as a fundraiser for the Partners with Haiti Earthquake Relief Fund.
'It was Joel's generosity that inspired me and the Test Press committee to make TestPress.03 a fundraiser for Partners with Haiti as well,' comments Epiphyte Records and Pyramind Studios Founder & CEO Gregory J. Gordon. 'I think it's important that we all understand that even though it isn't in the headlines anymore, this tragedy isn't over. We need to continue to support the people of Haiti.'
Thus with the approval of the Test Press committee and the artists appearing on the compilation, all profits for TestPress.03 will be directed to Partners with Haiti's Earthquake Relief Fund. Other artists appearing on the compilation include Pance Party, Sam Harkness, Cloud City Rejects, Daniel Riera, Frost-RAVEN, Return to Mono, and many more.
The official CD release party for TestPress.03 is set for Thursday July 29th, coinciding with the third Test Press and Flux Summit events of the year.
