ABOUT THE RIGHT COAST:
Brandon Ehrgood was nine credits short of graduating at the top of his class with an advertising degree from Temple University when he called it quits. Envious job offers lined up, but he had another goal on his mind: The Right Coast.
Such actions might seem crazy, but Ehrgood and his bandmates John Becker (guitar), Eric Camarota (bass), Andy Alonso (guitar) and Josh Grigsby (drums) are on a mission: to document their feelings about life experiences in hopes of helping themselves and others who can relate. The Right Coast is the voice of this lost society, making music for those trudging through the daily grind, confused and insecure. The members' palpable chemistry evokes sing-along songs that give their dream chasing fans tiny moments of blissful content upon every listen.
'Our goal is to reach out to as many people as possible and give them hope and inspiration,' explains Becker.
Since the release of the band's first EP, This Is Now (2009)-which has been downloaded over 20,00 time and been added to 40,000 TouchTunes Digital Jukeboxes-The Right Coast has made its hometown of Lancaster County, P.A. known for more than the aroma of manure and horse-and-buggy lined roads. The band has received prime placement from major outlets (AOL Music, MySpace, Alternative Press), heard its songs featured on MTV's The Hills, Real World, Super Sweet 16 and VH1's Tough Love, stunned crowds at SXSW and shared the stage with everyone from N.E.R.D., Hanson, Gym Class Heroes, and New Found Glory.
Yet Ehrgood-the self-proclaimed 'most stressed member'-says the band's breakthrough moment hasn't come yet. 'But when it does, it will be because we worked hard.' Camarota adds, 'There are struggles often, but that's life and if you want something bad enough, you get through it. The Right Coast is what the five of us revolve our lives around. We want to have our music heard around the world and affect people's lives in a positive way through our music.'
So while he could be living it up among the elite in corporate America, Ehrgood decided to take another road-on the road, piled in a van with his four best friends, as they go days without showers, battle flat tires and finances, endure the side effects of eating fast food all day every day, and struggle for sanity. As the band spikes the standard rock formula with indelible hooks, it's clear that The Right Coast is ranked at the head of its own class.
