New York, NY (Top40 Charts/ RYTONE Entertainment) - Two albums in one year is stretch for many artists, but not for Ryan Farish. The electronic artist/producer came out with Bloom in March and released Opus this week. The 19-track, 90-minute-long CD is available digitally on all major sites like iTunes and Amazon.com.
What's unusual is Opus doesn't follow in the same vein as the downtempo release in March. This new album carries Ryan into the world of dance/dream trance from beginning to end with its mixture of serenity, uplifting and soaring anthems, and dance vibes. Longtime listeners will still hear his signature tone, but they can also expect a much faster, upbeat sound from beginning to end.
As a longtime producer of dance/trance/progressive electronic music, both for himself as well as major label clients published by the likes of Universal and a few others, an entire album dedicated to this specific genre was a natural progression for Ryan.
'I've been making dream trance since 2000, with songs like 'Windjammer' and 'Colortones,' but I've always wanted to put together a complete body of work in the dance/trance genre,' he explained. 'The rhythms and tricks that you get to pull out in this style of music are really fun and cutting edge in terms of where the state-of-the-art of music production is right now.'
Likening the production process to those of classical composers, he pulled inspiration from artists like Mozart, Seal and Tiesto, who is one of the world's elite DJs and electronic dance artists. This album gives listeners a chance to glimpse into Ryan's other side of production and showcases his electronic production skills.
'I hope my listeners will enjoy it and will come along with me to celebrate the creative spirit and the fact we should always push ourselves to explore and grow in art,' Ryan said. 'This album really was a growing album for me as an artist, as well as a producer. The title track, 'Opus,' is probably one of my favorite tracks I've ever created. I love the fact this it is classical, yet futuristic all at once.'
The obvious inspiration for an album, the song also influenced Ryan to include a radio edit of it as a bonus track on the album. It also paves the way for Ryan to tour with this album and play at dance clubs, which he plans on doing soon.
Ryan Farish - coined the American ATB by fans - released his first full-length album a decade ago. The electronic artist/producer has been able to cross genres, thanks to collaborations with fellow musicians like Paul Hardcastle, Donna Lewis and Trin-i-tee 5:7. In 2008, he garnered a Grammy nomination and received a Dove Award. The award-winning songwriter/producer/ composer/multi-instrumentalist's music has also been featured on numerous TV shows and movies. As of April 2010, more than 1,000 listener-supported YouTube videos helped him reach 34 million views.
