London, UK (Top40 Charts/ White Noise Pubilc Relations) - The Music Producers Guild (UK) today announced the shortlist for its 2011 Awards, which takes place at Floridita, London, on February 9th 2011. MPG Chairman Steve Levine says the 2011 Awards attracted a large number of nominations, all of which were of a very high calibre. "Nomination numbers were significantly up on last year and we are delighted with the response," he says. "These awards are only in their third year but the response indicates just how coveted an MPG Award is to those recording professionals who work so hard to create the music that we all enjoy."

As an annual highlight on the music industry's calendar, the Music Producers Guild Awards recognises the enormous contribution made by recording professionals to the success of the UK's music industry.

The winner of the Music Producers Guild's Producer of the Year Award also receives a BRIT Award for Best Producer, and both awards will be presented at the Music Producers Guild's Awards ceremony.

After receiving nominations for qualifying people in each category, the shortlist was voted on by full members of the Music Producers Guild. Those chosen will now be put before a final judging panel, with the winners being announced at the Awards ceremony.
