Rush guitarist arrested

NEW YORK (Rush Fan Website) - Police in Naples, Florida charge that Rush guitarist Alex Lifeson (aka 50-year-old Alex Zivojinovich) fought with deputies and spat blood on one during a melee at an upscale hotel. It started when his son refused to get off the stage.
Justin Zivojinovich, the son, says: "I was singing Happy New Year's, that's all I was doing, singing to the whole crowd. That's all I said, 'Happy New Year." For some reason, he says security was called and police tried to get him off the stage.

Police also say Alex Zivojinovich pushed an officer down a stairwell in addition to splitting blood in what observers describe as a drunken rage. He is being charged with disorderly intoxication, resisting an officer with violence and battery.

Also arrested were his 33-year-old son Justin Zivojinovich and wife Michelle Zivojinovich, 30. Justin Zivojinovich said his father, who was still in Collier County jail last night, had his nose broken by deputies. The father and son are Canadian citizens.
He denied his father had thrown a female deputy down the stairs, as stated in arrest reports. She fell down the stairs as she pushed the guitarist down the stairwell, his son said.
