San Francisco, CA (Top40 Charts/ Tom Kidd PR) Just returned from their second South Pacific tour, Vortex Tribe spearheads a night of music at the newly relaunched George's Nightclub in San Rafael. The night of funky dance grooves features three of the interconnecting International sensations on the upstart Bay Area label Two Hearts Records: Vortex Tribe, Jon Mulvey's Rockethouse and Due Cuori. The night will also serve as the official CD launch party for Mulvey's new solo work, "This and That." Two Hearts storms George's (842 Fourth St., San Rafael, CA 415-226-0262) on Saturday, January 29, 8:30 p.m. For tickets and reservations, visit www.georgesnightclub.com.
Vortex Tribe is a perfect storm of rich experience and fearless talent, delivering a well-honed sound and a dance-inducing punch. Combining improvisation with elements of rock, and world music, Vortex Tribe's sound swells with hard-hitting, danceable grooves and rich, synthesized keys. Jon Mulvey's soaring guitar lines interweave with Deborah Yates' dazzling flute. The pedigreed performers bring a globe-spanning breadth of prowess, deftly blurring the lines between genres and creating a sum that is far greater than its parts.
After 10 years as a member of Mingus and as protege to legendary guitarist Joe Satriani, Jon Mulvey steps front and center with the release of a rocking collection of instrumental guitar, "This and That." The "This and That Tour" is already underway, kicked off with Jon in New Zealand this year. This all original CD written and produced by Jon includes Stuart Hamm (Satriani/Vai) on bass and Jerry Marotta (Peter Gabriel/John Lennon) on drums and percussion.
One of the freshest additions to the Two Hearts roster, Due Cuori is the sophisticated and sexy flute and guitar duo of Jon Mulvey and Deborah Yates. The acoustic world duo will heighten your senses with every note they caress.
George's nightclub recently opened on October 2nd, 2010 following a seven year absence from the Marin County and Bay Area at large nightclub scene. The opening night sold-out show has been followed by numerous other sold-out nights attended by audiences excited to attend shows at the brand new nightclub. The 5,200 square-foot venue has a plush 1940s supper club vibe accentuated by a piano-shaped stage, cabaret seating, luxurious VIP leather banquettes near the back bar, blue neon lighted George's signs on exposed raw red brick walls and an art deco marquee.
Jon Mulvey and Deborah Yates are behind Two Hearts Records, a label focused on world and instrumental music. Mulvey is also a sponsored clinician for Peavey Amps and Ibanez Guitars and EMG Pickups. Mulvey combines his formidable training with innate talent to help shape his projects' unique sounds, which include world fusion band Vortex Tribe, acoustic world Due Cuori, rock'n Jon Mulvey's Rockethouse and his other solo projects.
