NEW YORK (Beyonce Official Website) - Beyonce Knowles has been chosen to sing the Star Spangled Banner at this year's Super Bowl on 1 February. It's a bit of a homecoming for Beyonce since the big game takes place in Houston, Texas where the star was born and raised. One week after the performance, Beyonce will attend the Grammy Awards where she is nominated in six categories including Record of the Year for Crazy in Love.

Previous singers of 'The Star-Spangled Banner' at the Super Bowl include Mariah Carey, the Dixie Chicks, Barry Manilow, Marvin Gaye, Neil Diamond, Mariah Carey, Billy Joel, Diana Ross and Neil Diamond.
