Darkness has announced the dates for their first full-blown cross-country U.S. tour. The headlining itinerary is slated to begin on March 26th in Milwaukee and run through April 19th.
The announcement comes as the U.K. band is breaking through in the U.S. with burgeoning sales, rapidly building radio and video play, and major media and online coverage.
In only its fourth week on the Billboard 200 chart, the Darkness's debut album, "Permission To Land," leapt to No 39 with a bullet, and it has now scanned over 165,000 copies. The band's current single, "I Believe In A Thing Called Love" is now on the air in more than 30 major markets across the country.
The song is impacting heavily at both Alternative and Rock formats, and is being played at multiple radio stations in numerous cities. It is slated to go for adds at pop radio outlets the first week of February.
The companion video for "I Believe In A Thing Called Love" has jumped into "Big 10" rotation at MTV, is the No1 most-played clip and in "Blowtorch/Buzzworthy" rotation at MTV2, is among the top ten Most-Streamed Videos on MTV.com, is in "Large" rotation at VH1, and can also be seen on FUSE TV.
