LONDON, UK (MyCokeMusic.com / Coca Cola UK Website) - Drinks giant Coca-Cola is to offer albums for download on its new music website for as little as 6.40. Singles will cost from 80p on mycokemusic.com, which launches on Monday. The company says it will have the largest collection of legal downloads available on the net. It will feature more than 250,000 new and old tracks. The website will feature exclusive and pre-release tracks from artists including Stereophonics, Kings of Leon, Sugababes and Lemar. Pre-releases will be for sale on the site up to six weeks before they are available on the High Street. Users have to be aged over 18 because payment is via a credit or debit card. Also music fans will be able to listen to an album through their computer for 1p a track. The Tears For Fears, who have reformed after the success of the Gary Jules cover Mad World, will release their new single Closest Thing To Heaven exclusively on the site. The site is supported by the British Phonographic Industry, which aims to crack down on illegal file-sharing. Over the next year Coca-Cola is mounting a formidable marketing campaign, including more exclusive tracks and the opportunity to win a bunch of downloads. The company recently signed a deal to become the official sponsor of the UK charts. But the BBC announced it was to drop mention of Coca-Cola from its Radio 1 chart countdown and Top Of The Pops following criticism by health campaigners.
