Radio today announced a partnership with recording legend
Britney Spears to launch a national contest that will give one lucky fan the chance to meet the icon on the set of a video shoot for her new album Femme Fatale, in stores March 29. The contest, which uses Facebook instead of traditional telephone request lines, highlights Clear Channel's unmatched ability to connect artists with their fans through an unparalleled collection of terrestrial, digital and mobile media assets.
Beginning on March 11 through March 25, listeners can enter the contest via the Facebook Pages for 95 Clear Channel stations across the country as well as through the Facebook Page for iHeartRadio. All contest entrants will receive exclusive access to a megamix of tracks from Femme Fatale produced by Dr. Luke and Max Martin plus three photos from Britney's album cover shoot.
"When it comes to connecting communities and engaging music fans, no medium does it better than radio - and Clear Channel understands the power of radio better than anyone else," said John Hogan, CEO of Clear Channel Radio. "That's why connecting fans to Britney and her music through our Facebook Pages is a logical and innovative next step. With 750 digital radio stations from 150 cities on iHeartRadio and the promotional firepower to reach 228 million listeners a month, we can develop creative solutions for our partners and advertisers that no one else can match."
"When Clear Channel came to Jive and us with this opportunity we saw it as a perfect opportunity to branch out with them," said Britney Spears manager Larry Rudolph. "Over the years Clear Channel has been so supportive to Britney on so many fronts, and this promotion ties it all together."
"The marketing platforms being provided by Clear Channel are touching every base possible," said Joe Riccitelli, Executive Vice President of Promotion for the JIVE Label Group. "It sets the album up for street date on March 29th, and I am looking forward to working closely with Tom Poleman and his Clear Channel team on future releases."
This contest comes on the heels of a similar partnership between Clear Channel and Lady Gaga, which helped propel the artist's new single Born This Way to number one iTunes song in less than three hours.
