Big Rude Jake Tours France!
New York, NY (Top40 Charts/ Big Rude Jake Official Website) Big Rude Jake is REALLY looking forward to this! It's been over 10 years since he toured in Europe.

There are a lot of dates already, and more shows are constantly being added. The tour runs from 7 April- 6 May.
Please check the calendar at https://bigrudejake.ca/calendar/
Jake will be playing all over France, from north to south, so watch for a show near you!

All shows will be duets, featuring Alison Young on saxophone and Jake himself on acoustic guitar. They call this band "the BR2," and their performances have been getting rave reviews at their many Canadian appearances.

The one exception to this lineup is the big show on May 3rd in Paris, at the infamous "TREAT ME BAD" festival, presented by the notorious Parisian psycho-billy combo, "The Washington Dead Cats."

For this special show, Jake has assembled a 7-piece swing band: "The Oberkampf Swing Punks," who are in rehearsal right now to create their own interpretation of the classic Big Rude Jake sound, in the tradition of the Gentlemen Players, the Quicksand Combo and the Jake Rude Swing Sextet.

The name "Oberkampf Swing Punks" is a tribute to Rue Oberkampf, a famous working class neighbourhood in Paris that has recently become a cultural centre, similar to the "Williamsburg" area in Brooklyn, NY. The name also references "Oberkampf," the classic French punk-rock band from the 70's. Is this the European return of the Big Rude Jake Swing Punk phenomenon? Time will tell.

On his return to Canada from France, Jake will be getting ready to tour in the US, and shows have already been booked in other parts of Europe for next year. Keep in touch!
