Blues Music Award Nominee Peter Parcek Offers Name-your-own-price Download Of New 4-song Dylan Salute
Boston, MA (Top40 Charts/ Mark Pucci Media) Redstar Entertainment announces that a special 4-song EP of Blues Music Award nominee Peter Parcek's salute to Bob Dylan, Pledging My Time, will be available to music fans at a name-your-own-price download on his website beginning Wednesday, March 30: https://www.peterparcekband.com/ep.html. The four songs were selected by Peter Parcek, himself, and represent some of his personal Dylan favorites: "She Belongs to Me; "Leopard-Skin Pill-Box Hat; "Beyond Here Lies Nothin'; and "It Takes a Lot to Laugh, It Takes a Train to Cry. In addition to the new song downloads being made available, the Peter Parcek website will contain new weekly webisodes chronicling the making of the EP, new live video and liner notes. The webisodes will also be available each week on Peter Parcek's YouTube channel: https://www.youtube.com/user/peterparcek3?feature=mhum.

Pledging My Time is being offered to listeners at a name-your-own-price when downloading. As music fans hear the tracks in their entirety, they'll be able to feel the passion in which they were recorded and created with the vision of Peter Parcek's unique interpretations of these Bob Dylan songs. If fans like what they hear and want to download the complete EP, they'll be asked to consider donating at a price for what they think it is worth to them. They'll also be encouraged to pass this along to friends using the "share drop down menu provided.

While Peter Parcek is most often perceived as a blues artist, the music on Pledging My Time transcends any musical boundaries and demonstrates the wide spectrum of his guitar playing and interpretive skills. Parcek has a unique ability in that he is able to juxtapose style, genre and technique to create an original sound and personal statement.
He's used these four Dylan songs as a basic musical palette, but adds his own colors and textures to create something beyond just the original lyrics. The music, while not completely abandoning his blues roots, explores new terrain: it is more ambient and spatial and uses more acoustic guitar than ever before.

The EP's title, Pledging My Time, has a very personal and special significance to Peter Parcek. "We - the musicians and I - were pledging our time to try and take these songs where no one had taken them before," Parcek says. "We were pledging our time to make the best record we could make. You are driven by passion to make a record. It needs to be done with passion. No one has time for it if it isn't."

The new music becomes available as the Boston guitar legend prepares to head to Memphis for the Blues Foundation's annual Blues Music Awards, with winners to be announced on May 5. Parcek has been nominated as "Best New Artist Debut," as a result of the overwhelming critical acclaim for his 2010 national album debut, "The Mathematics of Love." Produced by Ted Drozdowski, The Mathematics of Love featured special guest appearances by legendary keyboardist Al Kooper and iconic guitarist Ronnie Earl.

Music critics were quick to embrace the music. The Boston Herald called it "...a powerful reminder of Parcek's monster talent;" while The Philadelphia Inquirer
said, "Parcek makes The Mathematics of Love add up to a fresh chapter in the blues;" and UK-based magazine Blues Matters described Parcek as "...a first rate interpretive singer and player."
