Boston, MA (Top40 Charts/ Loudside Artist Management) Boston's MONGREL will release their long-awaited new EP, Declamation, Tuesday, the follow up to the acclaimed New Breed of Old School. The EP featuring 5 tracks including, "Start The Riot", "Fucked it all Away", "Amerikkkan Way" "All Coming Down", and a cover of the Graves-era Misfits track, "Dig up Her Bones", will be available on ITUNES, Amazon, and all major digital retailers. Additionally, a CD version is available for purchase directly from the band via their website www.mongrelband.com.
Mongrel will follow up Declamation with the release of the bands second LP, Reclamation, tentatively scheduled for June.
With their balance of old school punk intensity, metal aggression, and hard rock hooks, Mongrel is a hungry, young Rock band ready to take on the world. The recordings are only part of the equation though, as Mongrel live is an equally unforgettable experience. It's high energy, intense, and fun.
Mongrel has toured extensively throughout the US, repeatedly sharing stages with metal and punk luminaries as diverse as The Misfits, FEAR, Korn, GWAR, Sepultura, Fu Manchu, Dizzy Reed (Guns N' Roses), The Exploited, Prong, Otep, Wednesday 13, Michale Graves, Blitzkid, The Independents, Trashlight Vision, Piggy D's Evacuation Plan, Mushroomhead, Hed(pe), American Head Charge, Mower, Psychostick, All That Remains, etc., receiving airplay on major Rock outlets including WAAF, WBCN, WFNX, WGIR, WHEB, as well as Sirius/XM and Music Choice.
After some evolutionary lineup changes in the first half of 2010, Mongrel hit the studio with their new singer Jessica Sierra, and new drummer (Dave Kazukiewicz) to record the 6 song The New Breed of Old School EP with Jim Foster (Nullset, POD, Damone, Thy Will Be Done, Graveyard BBQ) taking over recording and mixing duties. 2011 saw Mongrel return in a big way, first winning PULSE Magazine's "Punk Band of the Year" award, and making up for lost time with a new LP Reclamation, streeting in June, and a leadoff EP Declamation, hitting digital retailers 5/10.
"Mongrel is more than punk, more than metal, they tread the line somewhere in between...a rare musical hybrid that brings the listener into their dangerous and heavy world, then keeps them there, with beautiful, unapologetic force." - Dan Nelson, BlackGates, ex-Anthrax.
"If anybody knows about musical car crashes it's me! Mongrel embodies all that is great about punk rock. Their music sweats pure angst, driven by an audible destruction that is in rare form these days. And then there's the live show....wear a helmet!" - Piggy D., bassist, Rob Zombie
"Mongrel is hands down the hardest working punk rock machine in New England. With their aggressive work ethics, high-energy live shows and
pure dedication to the mission, Mongrel's latest release "Fear, Lies, and Propaganda" will surely bring them to new levels of much deserved success. Even nuclear war could not stop these guys....check them out!" - Joe O'Brien, Owner, Rat Pak Records
"Mongrel go for the throat quicker than the bastardized canine from which they sequester their Hancock. The sobriquet under which they banner their aural beatings could not be more fitting. Plus, I hear they eat babies." - Argyle Goolsby, Blitzkid
"Mongrel take the DIY ethic of Black Flag, the anthems of the Misfits and throw a low slung Les Paul on it like Gn'R!" - Acey Slade,
ex-Dope/Murderdolls/ Trashlight Vision/Wednesday13/Amen
"Mongrel will bite you, then kick your ass musically in a way that you are going to love." - Shred, WBCN, local music director
