Marcia Miget With Lester Chambers Blues Revue
San Rafael, CA (Top40 Charts/ Black Gaming/ MARCIA MIGET Official Website) Coming off of the highly successful show with Lester Chambers and guitarist Steve Cropper at Yoshi's San Francisco last month, Saturday May 14 8:00 pm will see Miraflores Music's Marcia Miget on sax with the Lester Chambers Blues Revue at Point Reyes' historic Dance Palace.

A recent addition to Lester's band, the past NEA Music Award recipient, and Artistic Director of Miraflores Academie, Ms. Miget 'wowed' the Yoshi's audience at the "Sweet Relief" fundraiser. Her performance track record encompasses local Jazz and Latin Festival events from Monterey to Sacramento with names like Jorge Santana, Gabriel Manzo, Tony Menjivar, Anthony Brown, Wayne Wallace, Abel Sanchez, Marco Reyes and Bill Ortiz who come from groups the likes of Malo, War, Tower of Power and Santana, to name a few.

Growing up in Missouri with her family, Mom, Dad and three sisters, "The Vaune Sisters" performed jazz, gospel and folk, music throughout the Midwest at churches, music education conventions and on radio and television. No stranger to the Blues, upon admission to Drake University she was invited to become a member of Midwest Express, with legendary Blues vocalist Big Mike Edwards and bassist Dartanyan Brown, both current Iowa Blues Hall of Fame recipients. In 1978 the Band was voted Best Midwest Blues/Jazz Band. Marcia says, "Performing with Lester Chambers is an honor. His distinctive voice and strength carries a message of Hope to the world."

A composer/arranger as well as performer and educator, Ms. Miget's arrangement of 'Georgia' is on the bill to be performed by the Lester Chambers Revue at this year's Monterey Blues Festival, Sunday June 26 at 8pm on the Payton Gardens Stage. In 2010 she created an arrangement of John Coltrane's 'After the Rain' for Anthony Brown and the Asian American Orchestra that was performed at Northeastern University's John Coltrane Festival.

Ms. Miget is an active member of Bay Area 'Legend of Latin Rock's' Abel Sanchez's Frisco Project, recently performed with them at San Francisco's Cesar Chavez Birthday Parade. Saturday May 28 at 1pm she will be performing with Dr. Anthony Brown and the Asian American Orchestra at the Yerba Buena Center for the Arts.
