Farm Aid Teams With Brightcove To Live Stream Concert Event To Fans Around The World
New York, NY (Top40 Charts / Brightcove PR) Brightcove, the cloud content services company, today announced that Farm Aid, a non-profit organization whose mission is to keep family farmers on the land, will broadcast the organization’s Farm Aid 2011 benefit concert live on www.farmaid.org from 5 to 11 pm CDT using Brightcove Video Cloud. The all-star concert, which will take place on Saturday, August 13th at LIVESTRONG Sporting Park in Kansas City, KS, will attract up to 20,000 concertgoers, as well as making the music and message available to millions of supporters tuning in via the live video stream.

Carolyn Mugar, director of Farm Aid thanked Brightcove, "From the artists' gift of their performance to Brightcove’s generous sponsorship, to the donations from thousands, family farmers everywhere are offered hope and opportunity through the work of Farm Aid."

Farm Aid is the longest running benefit concert series in America, raising more than $37 million to help family farmers thrive all over the country while inspiring millions of people to learn about the Good Food movement. Farm Aid 2011 features an amazing lineup of performers, including Farm Aid Board members Willie Nelson, Neil Young, John Mellencamp and Dave Matthews. Other popular performers set to perform are Jason Mraz, Jamey Johnson, Jakob Dylan, Lukas Nelson & Promise of the Real, Robert Francis, Will Dailey & The Rivals, Rebecca Pidgeon, Billy Joe Shaver, Ray Price, The Blackwood Quartet and John Trudell.

Farm Aid is taking advantage of Video Cloud’s advanced live streaming capabilities to deliver the highest quality live coverage possible for the concert. The live stream will be accessible to viewers throughout the world via the Farm Aid website.

Video Cloud’s smart players also make it possible for users to access the high quality live video feed from any HTML5 or Flash-based mobile or tablet device by automatically detecting devices and rendering the appropriate video experience.
