Allison's Invention Brings Wonderland To The West Coast: 'Sweet And Vicious' Ep Releases In Los Angeles And Berkeley
New York, NY (Top40 Charts) Allison's Invention, formerly known by her given name, Allison Tartalia, is glancing through the looking glass at a new path in her multifaceted career. Her latest adventures bring her to the West Coast for solo concerts to support her new project, Sweet and Vicious. EP release parties will be held at Room 5 Lounge in Los Angeles on Saturday, August 20 and at the Subterranean Arthouse in Berkeley, CA on Thursday, August 25 (show details can be found below).

No stranger to the New York and Los Angeles Music scenes, Allison's Invention latest project captures the singer's brutally honest, and at times satirical lyrics that fearlessly portray her failed relationships and family struggles.

Sweet and Vicious, which Something Else says, 'gives hope for the future,' was produced in New York by Grammy Award winner Michael Leonhart, (Steely Dan, Lenny Kravitz) and in LA with vocal producer Marta Woodhull and was mixed by Brian Scheuble (Dave Matthews, Lenka, Rachael Yamagata). This lush melodramatic-pop album is already starting a spark in the music world.

Recently up for an Emmy for her work on the documentary 5,000 Miles From Home, Allison is able to use her impressive music skills in multiple entertainment avenues, including theater, where she has composed and arranged two full-length musical dramas, produced by New York's Theater for the New City. Her classical piano background and self-taught guitar playing, along with eclectic instrumentation and complex yet accessible arrangements, contribute to her unique sound. Fusing jazz, chamber pop and folk, Allison's Invention creates music that engages diverse audiences and transcends typical 'singer-songwriter' stereotypes.

On this project Allison fills a void in the music industry. Allison is a woman who knows that every line is well earned war paint. We are given a space in which to reflect, grow and speak our own truths from a place of learned confidence, insight and serenity. Like the inspiration for her new pseudonym, Allison's Invention, provokes her listeners to get back up after a big fall, and gain the confidence to start over on a new and improved path. Sweet and Vicious is a project that has the transcendent depth to put Allison's Invention on the map.
