San Francisco electronic music shop, RobotSpeak announces Smith and Linn will be at RobotSpeak Saturday, October 15th at 11:00 a.m. to discuss and demonstrate their just released collaboration, The Tempest. The Ableton for DJ classes are scheduled on November 14th and 16th at 7:00 p.m. The two 2-hour classes will give students all the tips and tricks needed to understand the best and most efficient way to prepare a DJ set in Ableton. Students should bring their laptops with the tunes of their choice. While plugged in to a projector, they will receive instructions about how to prepare songs for maximum usability in a DJ set.
Advanced Ableton Ableton 202 is scheduled for Monday, Dec. 5 at 7 p.m. and Wed., Dec. 7 At 7 p.m.
This class consists of two 2-hour classes and delves into tips and tricks that are beyond the scope of our Ableton 101 class. Including:
The power of Racks, Designing Dummy clips, Getting more out of built in Live Devices, Advanced Looper technique and hacks and Effective mapping strategies.
The Building an Arduino-based MIDI Controller class is designed for anyone wanting to learn how to design and build their own MIDI controller. No soldering or programming experience required. Participants will learn basic electronic signal flow and simple applications of the Arduino platform, and will leave the class with a custom 8 knob /8 button MIDI control surface. Students will provide an enclosure of their choice - anything from a cigar box, old radio or toaster - whatever can be easily accessed and fit the internal wiring. This class is scheduled on December 3rd, 10th and 17th at 1:00 p.m.
