NEW YORK (Travis Tritt Official Website) - Singer-songwriter
Travis Tritt starts this summer by bringing his acclaimed vocals and outlaw image to the attention of the world's foremost leaders, network, cable and public broadcast television channels, and the poker tables in Las Vegas.
On June 8, Travis will sit on a panel with dignitaries of the world at the international Group of Eight (G8) Summit in Sea Island, GA. Invited by Georgia Gov. Sonny Perdue, this Georgia native will participate in the George Entertainment panel discussion with heads of state from the United States of America, the French Republic, the Russian Federation, the United Kingdom, the Federal Republic of Germany, Japan, the Republic of Italy and Canada. During the three-day summit, thousands of government officials and diplomats will gather and discuss global issues including terrorism, HIV/AIDS, and third world economic development.
Reaching out to millions of US household, Travis is set to perform his first single, "The Girl's Gone Wild" from his upcoming album, "My Honky Tonk History" on the late night program Jimmy Kimmel Live on June 22nd. This will mark the national television premiere of Travis performing his raucous track.
Travis will then sit with acclaimed television anchor Tavis Smiley. Tavis' show has welcome dignitaries such as Sen. John Kerry, Bill Cosby and Prince. The premiere air date for this episode is scheduled for June 25th.
Rounding out the week on June 24th, Travis will go head to head with comedian Dennis Miller on his primetime CNBC talk show on Thursday, June 24th. Hitting the current topics of the day, week and hour, the show is sure to be informative, opinionated and entertaining.
Over Memorial Day Weekend, Travis turned to lady luck in the premiere episode of the second season of "Celebrity Poker Showdown" on Bravo. Joining him in the bluffing and raising challenges on the table in Sin City were Jerome Bettis, Rosario Dawson, Mena Suvari and Wanda Sykes.
With the 1990 release of his debut album Country Club, Travis Tritt quickly established himself as one of country music's most popular, acclaimed and diverse artists. Despite attempts to peg him as a country-rocker, he has repeatedly shown an aptitude for defying convention. Whether it's picking up a banjo with the likes of the late Bill Monroe or Earl Scruggs, or breathing R&B fire with Patti Labelle or Ray Charles, Tritt has earned his acceptance as a musician's musician.
Tritt's ninth and most recent release, "My Honky Tonk History," is set for release on August 17th. It features a song co-written by Sony label mate Gretchen Wilson and a duet with John Mellencamp. The first single, "The Girl's Gone Wild," is currently launching at radio.
