INDIANAPOLIS, In. (www.basementwhat.com) - Fort Wayne, Indiana-based rock band
Basement What? has been flirting with national success over the last few years, and hope to climb out of the proverbial basement and into the limelight when they release their sophomore record this summer.
Basement What? continues to pound the tour pavement throughout the Midwest while the finishing touches on the new album, which they hope surpasses the success of their debut,
U Listen 2 What?. The band's signature song, "My Beer," was a college rock anthem, having landed on compilation CDs put out by Billboard Magazine.
Basement What? has appeared in Rolling Stone and Billboard, opened for such national acts as SR-71, Shinedown and Seven Mary Three, and landed in the top 30 most downloaded songs on what was formerly www.mp3.com.
Somewhat straight ahead, somewhat quirky, but always within the boundaries of their own unique alternative rock vibe, Basement What? (Dave George on vocals and guitar, Pete Jacobs on bass, Nick Grant on guitar and Lou Grant on drums) has been winning over fans and critics alike and shows no signs of slowing down.
There are elements of Barenaked Ladies, Widespread Panic and Dave Matthews Band, while at times leaning toward the edgy pop of bands like Fuel and Lifehouse. Let's just say their sound is firmly entrenched in quintessential Middle America. And it's damn good.
