LONDON, UK (Top40 Charts/ Dawbell PR) Following his debut UK solo tour and sold out shows including London's Islington Academy, Charlie Simpson has today announced his tour plans for 2012 including his biggest solo show to date at Koko, London. Tickets for the tour go on general sale on Monday 5th December. The full list of dates are detailed below.
Charlie's 2011 tour perfectly showcased his strength as a musician, songwriter and performer. It also proved to be the best possible arena to hear his fantastic debut album 'Young Pilgrim', which charted at Number Six in August of this year.
2011 has been a stella year for Charlie. His latest single 'Cemetery' was selected as the iTunes Single Of The Week and has been downloaded over 70,000 times. The lead single from the album 'Down Down Down' was rapturously received by Charlie's fans, including Radio 1 Dj Fearne Cotton who selected it as her 'Single Of The Week'.
Charlie has also made numerous TV appearances including performing on ITV's Daybreak, Channel 4's Hollyoaks Music Show and Channel 5's OK TV. His music videos have gained over 1 million views on YouTube, including the video 'Cemetery' where Charlie was assaulted by low flying fruit.
'Young Pilgrim' saw Charlie join forces with acclaimed producer Danton Supple (Coldplay, Doves) to begin recording the album. The result is an accomplished 12 track record that emanates vintage warmth and whose luscious melodies and occasional imperfections lend it a vibrant character and earnest charm.
The album 'Young Pilgrim' was released in partnership with Nusic Sounds and distributed by PIAS.
