Metallica Play New Songs & Rare Covers With Superstar Guests At 30 Year Anniversary Concerts
New York, NY (Top40 Charts/ Mercenary Publicity) Metallica celebrated thirty years of metal domination last week with a four-date residency at San Francisco's legendary Fillmore Auditorium, turning out an unbelievable set of performances exclusively for their fan club members, MetClub.

With an astounding array of guests, tribute films (from the likes of Green Day and U2) , rarities and new tracks, the band pulled out all the stops, bringing Ozzy Osbourne, Lou Reed, Mercyful Fate, Glenn Danzig, Judas Priest's Rob Halford, Alice in Chain's Jerry Cantrell, former bassist Jason Newstead and Dave Mustaine amongst others onstage to perform. Even pre-Cliff Burton bassist Ron McGovney and guitarist Lloyd Grant guested, something few hardcore Metallica fans ever thought they'd witness.

Additionally, they performed 4 unreleased tracks from their 2008 album Death Magnetic which they simultaneously sent out as mp3s to MetClub members, under the name Beyond Magnetic - Hate Train; Just A Bullet Away; Hell And Back and Rebel of Babylon:

Look for the Beyond Magnetic EP to drop soon.

Their album with Lou Reed - 'Lulu', which was released on Oct 31st, has had the internet buzzing with contrasting opinions, where do you stand? Personally, we like the reviews below!

"One of the season's hottest albums." Rolling Stone
"A set of wrenching, astonishingly profane songs." New York Times
"The shock in this collaboration is that it sounds savagely natural" **** Mojo
"Pretentious? Oui. Self-important? Natch. Any cop? Pretty damn fine actually." 7/10 NME "The most extraordinary, passionate and just plain brilliant record" 4/5 Uncut
""…breathtaking….Die-hard fans of either may disagree, but the coming together of these two music giants has proved a shattering combination." 7/10 Classic Rock

Here is a record which wilfully defies all that in the name of artistic purity". *** The Telegraph
"… Lulu is an (admittedly brave) experiment that'll ruffle more than a few feathers." Rock n Rolla

"Dark, exhilarating and artfully explicit, this bizarre collaboration between Lou Reed and Metallica could be the year's most fascinating album." Bizarre

"…relentless speed metal against unfettered outpourings from Reed's fevered brain…" *** The Times

"Reed's deadpan delivery suits the dark themes and loud/quiet brutality of Metallica's accompaniment. Serene 20-minute Junior Dad is a welcome finale to a fascinating project." 3.5/5 The Sun
