BROOKLYN, NY (www.remixhotel.com) - Born and raised in Brooklyn is where Stoni spent hours listening to the tunes of Hip-Hop and R&B. She began her career in music as an intern in a recording studio that gave her the vast knowledge and opportunity to learn different facets of the music industry. With the knowledge, Stoni has made a commitment to making great music. Who is Stoni? The answer has to be that Stoni is the first female to ever compete and receive an award at the International Producer's Association Battle Dome Beat Competition. IPA kicks off beat competitions between music producers at the famous Nuyorican Poet's Cafe. Not until Stoni, had they ever seen a female producer bang on beats like she does. Stepping to the stage was Stoni with her MPC 2000 in hand to serve up tracks for a building overcrowded with shouting hip-hop fans like she was her own artist. When the lights dimmed Stoni became the first female to ever compete against all male producers. As a female producer, Stoni makes a point to represent for the grind of all females that want to produce, that can produce, and can match up to what male producers are doing in the industry. Stoni, along with some of the music industry's most talented artist and musicians (Chuck D, Prince Paul, Grandmaster Flash, DJ Scratch, Nona Hendrix from the LaBelle's and more) will be gathered at the 2nd Annual REMIX HOTEL NYC 2004 being held on June 25-27, 2004 to discuss their work as artist, producers, songwriter, engineers, musicians, and composers. Remix Magazine in conjunction with Ladies On The Mic and THE SHOCKLEE ENTERTAINMENT EXPERIENCE are back on the scene with this event that merges music and technology to bring forth a weekend of presentations, discussion panels, showcases, and entertainment. Come out and hear Stoni talk about her experience as a female producer and get entertained by her "off da hook" beat showcase.
