Britney Spears is engaged to dancer boyfriend

NEW YORK (Jive Records/Britney Fans Websites) - Pop singer Britney Spears' record label confirmed Friday that she is engaged to her dancer boyfriend. "I can confirm that yes, she is engaged," said Sonia Muckle of Jive Records.

Spears, 22, and Kevin Federline, 26, have not yet set a wedding date, Muckle added. The two began dating a few months ago, after Spears' dubious wedding early January in the gambling city of Las Vegas to childhood friend Jason Alexander. That 55-hour marriage was annulled within days. The romance attracted media spotlight when the couple returned to Spears' five-star Berkeley Hotel in Knightsbridge and begged the staff to open the pool after her show at the Wembley Arena.
Federline appeared in the movie "You Got Served" and performed as a backup dancer for singer Justin Timberlake, Spears' former boyfriend. He was previously involved with actress Shar Jackson, of TV's "Moesha." They have a 2-year-old daughter together and are expecting another baby in July.

Spears recently canceled her Onyx Hotel Tour because of a knee injury she suffered during a video shoot in New York. And Federline has been by Britney's side consistently as she recovers from the arthroscopic surgery. Her latest album, "In the Zone," was released in last November and has sold more than 2.6 million copies.
