NEW YORK (AP) - Her last album, "When I Look In Your Eyes," scored a 1999 Grammy for best jazz vocal performance, but it was the record's nomination that year as an album of year that solidified what her fans already knew: Diana Krall's music wasn't just for jazz junkies.
The British Columbia native was the first jazz artist in 25 years to be nominated in that high-profile category, and Krall -- already well- known in jazz circles -- started garnering mainstream attention.
Not that her fans were a tiny or quiet lot before. Celebrities, including Harrison Ford, Clint Eastwood, Sarah Jessica Parker, Elton John and Sting, are some of her biggest fans, praising her blend of elegant piano and witty, sensual vocals. Moreover, Krall's tunes have been featured on television shows such as "Sex and the City" and in films including "Autumn in New York," "Random Hearts," "Midnight in the Garden of Good and Evil," and the current Robert De Niro movie, "The Score."

Krall's fifth album, "The Look of Love," is scheduled for release on September 18. On it, she worked with legendary producer Claus Ogermann, who has crafted albums for Frank Sinatra and Barbra Streisand.
The album is "a dream come true," says Krall.
For this week's Showbiz Sessions, Krall spoke with "Showbiz Today Reports" anchor Laurin Sydney, and gave us a sneak preview performance of her version of the old standard, "Cry Me a River," one of the tracks on her new album.
