NEW YORK (First Klass Ent. press release) - First Klass Entertainment the promoters of Guinness B's Xplosion which is scheduled for Saturday July 10, 2004 is pleased to confirm that all artistes billed to perform at this show except Beres Hammond have confirmed their appearance.
There have been a lot of stories going around as to why Beres Hammond will not be performing and First Klass Entertainment feel that they need to give the facts and clear the air.
First Klass Entertainment's CEO, Douglas Gourzong met with Beres Hammond personally and got a commitment from him to appear on this show. He subsequently discussed and agreed upon the business arrangements with Beres Hammond's booking agent Ms. Mervis Walsh. She promised to let him have a Written Contract. Mr. Gourzong regularly followed up the booking agent for the contract document, as time was running out and the advertisements, fliers and billboards for the show needed to go to press. He in fact carried the deposit to the booking agent's office on the day it was agreed and it was not accepted on the basis that the contract document was not yet ready.
First Klass Entertainment's deadline for printing the advertisements had passed and based on the continued assurances that they got that Beres would be performing they went to press.
Sometime after the advertisements had been out in the public domain Beres Hammond's manager, Mervis Walsh, called the promoters to say she could no longer confirm Beres Hammond's performance at the show.
First Klass Entertainment took immediate steps to print new posters and fliers and to remove him from the line up at their press launch.
First Klass Entertainment regrets Beres withdrawal but wish to inform the show going public that they are committed to providing the best show of this kind in Jamaica.
They will be showcasing such super stars whose names begin with "B" as Beenie Man, Buju Banton, Bounty Killer, Bunny Wailer, who will in fact be performing for the first time in Kingston in years, as well as Baby Sham, Bling Dawg and Brick and Lace, in a comfortable environment at the Guardian Life Parking Lot in New Kingston. Not only will patrons take in what promises to be outstanding performances from all their favourite "B's" on one stage in one night, but also for the first time ever, music lovers will enjoy the rich taste of complimentary Guinness being served all night. Partygoers will also enjoy the sounds of Jazzy T, Coppershot, DJ Inferno, Razz and Biggy, and Xclamation Disco from Mandeville.
Guinness B's Xplosion promises to be one of the biggest events of the summer, and is not just any other event, but also one with a cause. First Klass Entertainment is donating a significant amount of the proceeds from the event to its charity organization Jamaica AIDS Support. Dr. Robert Carr , CEO of Jamaica AIDS Support, is pleased to be affiliated with First Klass members since 2003 and is looking forward to the event. Proceeds from the concert will be used to help care for and obtain medication for those persons infected with HIV/AIDS. He commends First Klass Entertainment's efforts to aid in their fight against AIDS and looks forward to working with them again in the future. Both First Klass Entertainment and Jamaica AIDS Support are disappointed that Beres Hammond has pulled from the concert, as he is the only major B, which has refused to appear on the night of the event.
First Klass Entertainment however promises the public an event to remember as almost all the come together for one night to give you the greatest performances of their career.
