New York, NY (Top40 Charts/ Sunshine Sachs) The Global Poverty Project (GPP) announced the Global Festival 2012, a multifaceted event culminating with a free ticketed concert in iconic Central Park, New York on September 29, 2012. Neil Young with Crazy Horse, Foo Fighters and The Black Keys will headline, supported by Band of Horses and K'Naan.

Starting today, free tickets to the concert can be earned through the new online platform, Global Citizen (https://globalfestival.com). By simply taking action through the website, choosing from a variety of cause related actions, music fans can qualify for free tickets to the concert.

Tickets can be earned by taking the following steps:
1. Go to https://globalfestival.com and register.
2. Earn points by taking action in support of the charitable organizations.
3. Upon earning three points the user will be automatically entered in a lottery for two free tickets to the concert.

"The Global Festival, and our platform, Global Citizen, will bring together thousands of people to see an end to extreme poverty in our lifetime," said Hugh Evans, CEO, The Global Poverty Project. "We are grateful to the artists and producers who are taking part for enabling us to bring together such an iconic concert to draw attention to our powerful messages."

Foo Fighters issued the following statement on their commitment to Global Festival 2012, "We are very proud to be lending a hand to such a creative, important event and are looking forward to adding to the noise in the big park and helping the effort toward reducing the global shame of deep poverty."

Neil Young stated, "With at least 1.3 billion people living in extreme poverty on Earth today, there has never been a better time to become a Global Citizen and do whatever you can to make a difference for your fellow man."

The Global Poverty Project aims to motivate a generation to take 100,000 actions by September and take a stand against poverty. More information about bands, artists, schedules, and more can be found at https://globalfestival.com. A small number of VIP tickets are available for purchase, all net proceeds go to the charity.
