fun. Tour Gets Underway October 31st In Portland, Maine With Show Benefiting Mainers United For Marriage
New York, NY (Top40 Charts/ Atlantic Records) fun. has announced a major partnership with non-profit group, REVERB and Ben & Jerry's for the upcoming REVERB Campus Consciousness Tour. The tour will hit an array of colleges across the country this fall (see below itinerary).

The REVERB Campus Consciousness Tour (CCT) is both a concert and social cause campaign, aimed at educating and mobilizing students to take positive action. This CCT's social focus will be for LGBTQ equality. (LGBTQ is a widely used acronym that stands for lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, questioning/queer.)

In addition, the tour itself will be as Earth-friendly as possible.
fun. fans attending the REVERB Campus Consciousness Tour will have the opportunity to connect with their campus LGBTQ organizations, learn how to get involved in the fight to get corporate money out of politics, and of course, sample free Ben & Jerry's Ice Cream.

For more information about the tour please visit www.campusconsciousness.org.
The upcoming trek marks the second year in a row that fun. has participated in the CCT.
"Last year we had an amazing experience on the Campus Consciousness Tour with REVERB," said Nate Ruess, lead singer of fun. "Colleges are fertile ground for activism and change. It's exactly where we need to be as we launch our support for LGBTQ equality."

"We're thrilled to continue our work with fun. this fall," said REVERB Co-Director and Founder Lauren Sullivan. "It's exciting to harness a band's passion for positive change and fun. brings a lot of energy around this important issue."

In addition, fun. will kick off the run with a very special show on October 31st at Portland, Maine's State Theatre benefiting Mainers United for Marriage, a broad coalition of groups and people working to win the freedom to marry for same-sex couples in Maine. The show will help raise awareness for the November 6th citizens' initiative vote to allow same-sex couples to receive a marriage license in the state of Maine. Pre-sale tickets will go on sale tomorrow, September 5th, via https://fun.artistarena.com.

In other news, fun.'s album "SOME NIGHTS," recently reached RIAA gold certification status for sales in excess of 500,000. The album sales were fueled by the success of "We Are Young (Feat. Janelle Monáe)," which spent six weeks atop Billboard's "Hot 100," earning 5x RIAA platinum for sales in excess of 5 million, and "Some Nights," the title track from the album, which followed the #1 success of "We Are Young" by topping the airplay charts at Alternative radio outlets nationwide, placing fun. alongside Green Day and Alanis Morissette as the only three acts in Alternative chart history to score consecutive #1s at the format with their first pair of singles. That track was also recently certified platinum for sales in excess of 1 million. "SOME NIGHTS" originally entered Billboard's "Top Current Albums" chart at #2 upon its February release, while also making a top 3 entry onto the Billboard 200.

fun. will be making a number of high profile appearances in the coming weeks, kicking off with an exclusive acoustic session streaming live on GRAMMY.com beginning Wednesday, September 5th. The band will then be among the superstars attending the 2012 MTV Video Music Awards, airing live on MTV on Thursday, September 6th at 8:00 pm/7:00c, where they are up for awards in two prestigious categories: "Best New Artist" and "Best Pop Video," honoring the record-breaking #1 hit, "We Are Young (Feat. Janelle Monáe)." Fans are invited to vote at www.mtv.com/ontv/vma/2012/categories.jhtml. Last, but certainly not least, fun. is set to pay a visit to E!'s Chelsea Lately, slated for Monday, September 17th (check local listings).
