NEW YORK (P. Diddy Fans Website/ Vibe Magazine) - Rapper Shyne has spoken out from his jail cell about his former mentor, Sean "P. Diddy" Combs. Shyne, whose real name is Jamal Barrow, was convicted with assault and attempted murder after a 1999 shooting incident at a New York nightclub. Barrow was at the club with Jennifer Lopez and Combs, who he says could have exonerated him during his trial by backing up his claim that he fired his gun in self-defense. In an upcoming issue of Vibe magazine, the rapper tells an interviewer, "All he had to do was tell the truth." Despite his incarceration, Shyne recently signed to Island Def Jam for $3 million (U.S.). His first single, a Kanye West production featuring Foxy Brown, is due out next month.
