NEW YORK (Columbia Records) - After hovering at No 2 for five straight weeks on the R&R Active Rock chart, the South Carolina hard rock quartet
Crossfade has finally toppled Velvet Revolver this week to become the new No 1 artist at the top of the chart.

"Cold," the first single from Crossfade's self-titled Columbia/FG debut album, has muscled its way to the top slot, beating out competition from bands including Hoobastank, Nickelback, Incubus, Slipknot, Linkin Park and Jet. This week "Cold" continues its ascent up Radio & Record's Rock chart nabbing the No 11 position and landing Crossfade ahead of artists like Slipknot, Audioslave, Linkin Park and Godsmack.

"Cold" gives an overall feeling of foreboding, a feat accomplished through the band's standout vocals. The lead singer soars over the top of a bottom-heavy instrumental, and the harmony is impressive and unique." - Radio & Records

Released on April 13, the self-produced disc was recorded at Crossfade's own garage-based studio in Columbia, SC. The band enlisted award-winning producer and engineer Randy Staub (Nickelback, U2, Metallica, etc.) to collaborate with them on the post-production.
From the rapid-fire chords of opening track, "Starless," through the hypnotic swirl of its acoustic closer, "The Unknown," the album introduces the four uncompromising musicians of Crossfade with an auspicious debut, and a warm welcome for "Cold."
