NEW YORK (Sanctuary Records) - DIO. The name is legend; the voice an archetype in the annals of hard rock; the music unmistakably enchanting and riveting. Lauded by both Jack Black's Tenacious D outfit and pro wrestler Chris Jericho of the WWE (via Fozzy, his musical alter ego), Ronnie James Dio is more than a memorable entertainer; he is a force of nature. Continuing his grand tradition of composing imaginative and thought-provoking rock music, DIO is proud to release its latest opus, Master Of The Moon through Sanctuary Records on August 31st.

Beyond the trademark lyrical content (consisting of imagery depicting dark fantasy fused with psychological anxiety), DIO's music is as potent as ever, each track crafted with the precision and force of a fervent shark attack. Master Of The Moon is a rapturous one-two punch of volatile rock music, with each composition destined to become classic, alongside such DIO notables as 'Holy Diver', 'The Last In Line', 'Rock 'N' Roll Children', 'Sunset Superman', and 'Rainbow In The Dark'.
Assisting Ronnie on this journey of passion and tragedy are guitarist Craig Goldy, drummer Simon Wright, keyboardist Scott Warren, and bassist Rudy Sarzo (a legend in his own right, having previously worked with the likes of Ozzy Osbourne, Whitesnake, and Quiet Riot). Sarzo replaces Jeff Pilson, who departed the band following the recording of Master Of The Moon.

Historically, Ronnie James Dio's voice is unparalleled, having honed his craft on brilliant tenures creating classics (like 'Mob Rules', 'Heaven And Hell', and 'Man On The Silver Mountain') with Black Sabbath and Ritchie Blackmore's outfit Rainbow.
DIO's legendary status was recently confirmed by VH-1 Television, securing the No 1 Most Metal Moment for originating the now infamous 'devil horns' hand gesture.

Master Of The Moon, with a ten-song tracklisting consisting of 'One More For The Road', 'Master Of The Moon', 'End of the World', 'Shivers', 'The Man Who Would Be King', 'The Eyes', 'Living The Life', 'I Am', 'Death By Love', and 'In Dreams' transcends DIO's previous efforts, adding a more contemporary and, at times, brutal edge to the classic DIO mythos.

As with each manifestation of DIO, rock music fans can expect a captivating world tour to commence this autumn, complete with DIO's incomparable showmanship.
A new night falls upon the music scene with the emergence of the Master Of The Moon.
