LOS ANGELES (Grammy Awards PR) - The 47th Annual GRAMMY Awards will be hosted in Los Angeles at STAPLES Center on "GRAMMY Sunday," Feb. 13, 2005, it was announced today by Recording Academy President Neil Portnow and CBS Senior Vice President, Specials, Jack Sussman. The show will be broadcast on the CBS Television Network at 8 p.m. (ET/PT), marking the 32nd consecutive year the show will air on CBS. Last year's broadcast boasted an increased viewing audience totaling more than 25 million nationwide. Nominations for the 47th Annual GRAMMY Awards will be announced in Los Angeles on Dec. 8, 2004.

"GRAMMY Sunday is music's biggest night, attracting millions of viewers around the world" said Portnow. "We look forward to working with Mayor James Hahn and his staff here in Los Angeles, our great friends at STAPLES Center, and our terrific partners at CBS to make February 13 the pinnacle of musical events marked by outstanding performances and a wealth of our trademark 'GRAMMY Moments.'"

"For more than 30 years CBS has been home to the GRAMMY Awards broadcast, and in that time it has become one of the most electrifying, exciting events in live television," said Sussman. "We are extremely proud to partner with the Recording Academy and to be back at STAPLES Center in Los Angeles to once again broadcast what is surely going to be a spectacular night of television, featuring today's top music stars performing today's biggest hits."
