Simon DTour Live, a national teen event headlining breakout singer, songwriter and guitarist Ryan Cabrera, hits The Fashion Centre at Pentagon City on Friday, August 27, 2004, from 3:00 p.m. - 9:00 p.m.

Simon malls across the country, offering teens a new type of detour this Back-to-School season, including the most exciting new singing talent, entertainment, games, and prizes. Visa Buxx serves as title sponsor of the tour.
Highlights of the free event include the action-packed Coca-Cola Main Stage with live performances from pop's emerging heartthrob, Ryan Cabrera. Although his albums have amplified his popularity, (Elm Street in 2001 and Take it Away, released this summer on the Atlantic Records label), for Cabrera making music is still all about performing live. In high school he and his band were already headlining at elite venues in his hometown of Dallas.
"My passion is bringing music to live audiences, so appearing with Simon DTour Live is a great opportunity," Cabrera says. "In concert, I try to affect fans the same way I've been affected by the music I love."
The event will also include a performance from Giorgi, a hot new artist from Miami. Giorgi is set to release her first sampler CD album this August featuring A Boy Like That.
The first 1,500 teens to register at Simon DTour Live will receive a free "Swag Bag" of product samples, premiums, and mall store coupons. They will also have the chance to check out the latest fashions and experience some of the latest technology gadgets and gizmos. Other exciting events at Simon DTour Live include:
- Henna Tattoo Station: Selecting from a variety of designs, teens will receive henna tattoos from professional artists presented by Simon DTour Live title sponsor Visa Buxx, the prepaid, reloadable Visa card specifically designed for teens that helps them learn about responsible spending.
- ELLE girl: The popular teen magazine will showcase the latest fashions and accessories and hand out free product samples from advertisers.
- Sprite DJ Crash Course: Teens can learn to scratch their own mixes with a pro, DJ Rhythm.
- Tamagotchi Friendship Bracelets: Teens can craft a personalized friendship bracelet and learn more about Tamagotchi virtual pets.
- Playtex "Get Comfy" Bedroom Makeover and Sweepstakes: Teens can register to win one of three bedroom designs courtesy of Dry Ice and receive free product samples and bedroom decorating tips.
- Swag Bags: At the event's registration area, teens can pick up their free "Swag Bag" filled with product samples, premiums and offers from sponsors and retailers such as Visa Buxx, Tamagotchi, hip-e, Kaplan, Narbles, Finish Line, Claire's, Aeropostale, Hat World and more.
"Teen shoppers visit Simon Malls nearly five times a month, so we know youth are looking for entertainment as much as great shopping and access to the latest, hippest brands," said Will Gaydos, director of mall marketing at The Fashion Centre at Pentagon City. "Simon DTour Live was developed with the help of our teen shoppers. We held focus groups across the country before developing this event to ensure that it would engage teens while providing the fun and excitement they're looking for."
