NASHVILLE, TN. (Rogers & Cowan PR) - GRAMMY nominated Country super-group TRICK PONY, featuring frontwoman
Heidi Newfield, guitarist Keith
Burns and bassist Ira Dean, will be performing for President
George W. Bush and supporters at his 2004 Traverse City, Mich., rally this Monday, Aug. 16 at 2:30 p.m., immediately prior to Bush taking the podium. Trick Pony, who are longtime Bush supporters, were directly invited by the Bush organization, and they are the only musical group scheduled to perform.
"We are all very excited to perform for the President and to participate in this important rally," says Keith Burns. "We are all longtime Bush supporters and we can't wait to meet him."
Trick Pony's hot, new single "The Bride" is currently rising up the Country charts. The hilarious music video for "The Bride" is getting plenty of spins and buzz on CMT, with the campy cameo of KISS frontman Gene Simmons as The Preacher, in his Country music video debut. 70s pop cultural icon John Schneider, from the Dukes of Hazzard and currently on Smallville, plays The Groom. Trick Pony's new Curb Records recording R.I.D.E is due in stores Oct. 26.
The group earned a 2003 GRAMMY nomination for Best Country Performance By A Duo Or Group With Vocal for "Just What I Do," and is the 2002 Academy of Country Music Awards winner for Top New Vocal Duo/Group, along with 2002 American Music Awards' "Favorite New Country Artist," and R&R's "Breakout Artist of the Year."
