Hill Country Live Hosts Lydia Loveless, Chris Hicks, Andrew Leahey And The Homestead, Folk Soul Revival, Guy Forsyth, The Steepwater Band, And More This July
New York, NY (Top40 Charts/ Shore Fire Media) Hill Country Live - DC's go-to destination for Americana, alt-country, and roots music- brings the "remarkable" (SPIN) Lydia Loveless, the Marshall Tucker Band's Chris Hicks, Virginia's "Band of the Year" Folk Soul Revival, Govt Mule and Wilco tourmates The Steepwater Band, and many more to their Capital Hill roadhouse and backyard BBQ stage at the National Building Museum this July.

July 5 - Andrew Leahey and the Homestead- Andrew Leahey has ditched his classical roots in Juilliard and Carnegie Hall in favor of Tom Petty-influenced alt-country, premiering his band's new video, "Little in Love" on American Songwriter and releasing a new EP made with R.E.M. and Drive By Truckers producer David Barbe. The band employs organ, harmonized riffs, and pedal steel to create a rough-around-the-edges, Bob Dylan-inspired Americana sound. [Backyard BBQ stage]

July 11 - Lydia Loveless - Greg Kot called this young Ohio native "a major new voice blowing into the country-punk dives and honky-tonks" in the Chicago Tribune. SPIN called her "remarkable." LA Times calls her "splendidly relentless." [Backyard BBQ stage]

July 16 - Guy Forsyth - Asylum Street Spankers alumn Guy Forsyth can wail on everything from resonator guitar to musical saw, diversity that steps from a wealth of life experiences including acting as a stuntman in Renaissance fairs and climbing mountains in Nepal. After five albums with the Spankers, e has Forsyth strikes out on his own, using his band experiences as the basis for his numerous gritty folk and blues albums.

July 19 - The Steepwater Band- JamBase called the most recent release from this veteran rock band "one of the greatest rock albums of the year," pulling together all types of influences from heavy psychedelia to passionate and gutsy blues. The band has toured extensively with a diverse roster including Govt Mule, Wilco, Cheap Trick, and Bad Company, who have all influenced their nostalgic, traditional, and tributary rock n' roll.

July 20 - Folk Soul Revival- Having been named Virginia Band of the Year by the VA Tourism Board and charting on Billboard's Heatseekers chart with their last album, Folk Soul Revival are a proudly local group breaking big on a national scale. A group of diehard fans that call themselves 'the Congregation' follows the band around the country to hear their rowdy, rootsy, boot-stomping Americana band straight from the hills of Appalachia.

July 25 - Chris Hicks Band (of The Marshall Tucker Band) - Chris Hicks is a current member of Southern rock legends The Marshall Tucker Band and past member of The Outlaws, playing lead and slide guitar and is a featured vocalist, and has been brandishing his style of rock and roll since his teens. Whether it was in his early groups - Legacy, the Fresh Figs and Loose Change - or as a solo artist, The Hitman has captivated audiences with his netherworld vocals, arena echoing axmanship and his freight train harmonica playing.
