Higgins creates beautiful music and has wonderful lyrics, but struggles getting airplay and recognition.
Dateline: Los Angeles, California- Hailing from Brunswick Maine, where the winters are cold, long and dark for up to 15 hours per day with only a precious 9 hours of sunlight, songwriter and performing artist Allen Higgins started late in the music business, when he picked up playing guitar at age 17. Higgins creates beautiful music and has wonderful lyrics, but struggles getting airplay and recognition.
Higgins has traveled far and wide to get his music recorded, and recorded his first album, "
Twenty One" with
Bobby Keyes of BK studios in Boston. Since then Higgins has worked with Bryan Patrick at
Jungle Studio Lorain just outside of Cleveland, and also with Scott Cannizzarro at
Soundtrack New York, who is a Grammy nominated audio mixer, producer, and musician. Higgins song, "Your Name on It", which is off his "Someplace Better" EP won a Nashville song writing contest through Paramount Song.

But even with great reviews and songs, Higgins has met with limited success, after many years of effort. Not one to give up easily, Allen always tries to live up to the best writers and players of all time. Higgins said, "You've always got to give it your best. Especially being a nobody from nowhere, otherwise why bother?"
However with that in mind, Higgins realizes that now is the time to make a much bigger push in his career. According to an industry spokesman, radio stations want to see the artist's entire music career progressing along with increasing radio plays. If the artist isn't touring, picking up more and bigger pieces of press and selling an increasing amount of music, then larger stations aren't going to play their songs. He hopes to build a realistic, easily managed radio campaign that will increase his success on the airwaves.
