Alex Lyman says, "The Chosen Ones" song and video is about the perception that a large portion of society feels to express as the correct and incorrect way of living your life, the general message of the song is about paving our own roads, not following the pathways that society feels we should follow."

The Salt Lake City, UT group's sound melds hardcore, metal, electronic, pop punk, and even a little classical music. In 2010 while working as a guitar tech for Chelsea Grin, Lyman began toying with what would become the very first Hearts & Hands song. The band recorded the resulting material and released a 5 song self-titled EP last year. The initial lineup also featured
