TORONTO, Canada (www.kittierocks.com) - Canadian metal band Kittie will head up a three band fall tour - dubbed the "Metal Movement Tour" - featuring the heaviest female fronted bands.

Joining Kittie will be Otep, and Crisis. "We're constantly being asked about being women in a male-dominated genre," said vocalist/guitarist Morgan Lander. "This tour should lay to rest any ideas that women can not rock as hard as men!"

This tour comes on the heels of a very successful summer headlining tour with Candiria, 36 Crazyfists, and Twelve Tribes that had to be cut short due to Kittie drummer Mercedes Lander falling ill on the road.

"We were very upset that we had to cancel the last couple weeks of the tour because everything was going so great," said Lander. "But Mercedes' health is more important."

The drummer is doing well now and the band will make up the cancelled dates with new shows in the affected cities.

Kittie's third full-length album, "Until the End," released July 27 by Artemis Records, has been receiving great reviews:

"Armed with 50 mega-ton choruses, Kittie put hooks over hellfire this time around. Frontwoman Morgan Lander lays arena-bound refrains atop head-butt guitars on the album highlight 'Red flag.'" - Blender

"...Kittie's new CD proves it can slay with the power of Slayer." – New York Daily News

"As is its trademark, the group slows down the cranium rattling thrash of Slayer and early Metallica to a serrated rumble, resulting in a sound that's unmistakably heavy but spacious enough to accommodate dynamics." – Philadelphia Inquirer
