'SMOG CITY VOL. 2' Out Now on SMOG Records
New York, NY (Top40 Charts/ Plexi PR) SMOG Records celebrates its seven year anniversary with the newest installment of the SMOG City compilation series, 'SMOG City Vol. 2.' With premieres in SPIN, Billboard, Mixmag, VIBE, XLR8R, THUMP and more, 'SMOG City Vol. 2' features 18 brand new, original tracks showcasing the label's continued evolution into diverse and genre-bending sounds that include everything from dubstep, trap, grime, West Coast hip hop, experimental, and much more, from some of bass music's most exciting established and emerging artists.

'SMOG City Vol. 2' includes new and original tracks from 12th Planet, Caspa, Antiserum, Mayhem, Starkey, SPL, IllSkillz, Protohype, Noah D, Flinch, Infuze, Son Of Kick, Atlantic Connection, So Japan, Kelly Dean, DLX, Pawn, Deco, Gunner Bass, and Steady, providing a taste of what's to come from the tastemaking Los Angeles-based label. The release also kicks off the SMOG City Series tour featuring 12th Planet, Flinch, SPL and Two Fresh, as the influential party crew brings their subsonic sounds across the U.S. for the first time, hitting New York City, Miami, San Francisco, Seattle, and Dallas between November 29 and December 20 (see tour dates below).

SMOG is one of the founding brands in the North American dubstep and bass music movement. Originally an event production company based in Los Angeles, SMOG has expanded into a record label, artist development hub, and lifestyle brand. With MTV calling the crew a "pioneering incubator of bass music in America," SMOG is widely credited for bringing the British movement stateside, and continues to be a crucial force in the evolution of electronic music. SMOG also continues to produce top quality events in Los Angeles and beyond, always pushing forward as an internationally recognized leader in U.S. bass music.

'SMOG City Vol. 2' is out now on SMOG Records and available on iTunes, Beatport and at all major online music retailers.

"While America's recent love affair with dubstep has been somewhat scrubbed of its dub and jungle influences, 'No Gyal Tune' serves as a reminder of where that booty-shaking bass began." — Billboard

"On a song like 'Stroll,' incessant 808 pounding collides with glitched sequences, trap slaps, rave synth, and soothing trance, resulting in a Frankenstein-like club crusher." — SPIN

"Los Angeles has seen a deluge of quality experimental hip-hop and dance producers in recent years, and in that anything-goes creative setting, LA native Pawn manages to mash up homegrown sounds with inspired flashes of footwork and jungle." — XLR8R

"'Mirrors' heavy soul-claps and groove-filled basses shows that Atlantic Connection has what it takes to represent the raw dubstep/bass label originally founded by 12th Planet." — VIBE

"'Smoked Out' [is] a trap banger from SMOG stalwart 12th Planet. It's a biggie." — Mixmag

"['Fungus'] is little piece of twerk heaven is fully loaded with mammoth 808s, hissing rattlesnake snares, a distinctly Californian jerk hip-hop gait, and of course some dude with a deep voice saying "fuuuuuungis." (Twelfie, is that youuuuuu?)" — THUMP
