After years of many more bands (including cult favorite, Basement Culture with future guitarist & childhood chum, Lew Wernick) and establishing himself as a stellar solo acoustic performer, he led various lineups of The Nik Everett Group that performed throughout the Mid-Atlantic states & eventually claimed the award for Best Independent Release for the classic, "Surrender Tonight" on Third Story Records by The Philadelphia Music Foundation.

A few years later, Dif Records "Gravel & Honey" followed and displayed even more sides of Nik's versatile talent. Along the way Nik has shared stages with the likes of Poco, Lone Justice, Alex Chilton, Albert Collins, The Hooters, Tommy Conwell, Suzanne Vega, Marshall Crenshaw and many others. The late 90's gave us the power trio, Nik Everett & The Sunspots, a foray into the harder side of pop. "We were loud but I got to play a lot of electric guitar." Nik concludes.

Currently, Everett continues to perform with his new band and/or solo acoustic and "Summer's Gone" is the glorious result of his long-awaited return to the recording studio.
