NEW YORK (Lava Records) - The ladies of Antigone Rising have something to crow about. No doubt a testament to Antigone Rising's now-notorious rockin' live set, the ladies have been chosen to hit the road with psychedelic hipster and former Black Crowes co-founder Rich Robinson beginning September 16 in Poughkeepsie, NY. This announcement comes just as the band puts the finishing touches on their major label debut "We Are Antigone Rising," set for an early 2005 release.

Antigone Rising has built a steady following in the Northeast, releasing several independent albums backed by constant touring. As the Village Voice says, "These babes bring the classic rock with passion, chops, swagger and moxie." Most recently the fearless five showed everyone how to Rock The Vote at a Democratic National Convention event. The band also opened two shows in the New York area for rock heroes Aerosmith. Steven Tyler enjoyed their set so much, he pulled lead singer Cassidy on-stage for an impromptu twist and shout during Aerosmith's hit "Walk This Way."
Antigone Rising set Austin on fire with a blistering set at this years' SXSW Music Festival, causing Rolling Stone magazine to declare that "These women turned in the killer big rock show of the festival."

Antigone Rising is lead singer Cassidy, sisters Kristen and Cathy Henderson on guitars, Dena Tauriello on drums, and newest member Jen Zielenbach on bass. The band hails from the New York area and have released several independent albums including "Antigone Rising's Traveling Circus" and the out-of-print "SaY iT! an-TIG-uh-nee."
