Juan Gabriel Shines In U.S. Tour Opener In Chicago
CHICAGO, IL. (Top40 Charts) Latin pop legend Juan Gabriel kicked off his U.S. Tour last night to resounding success, performing before a packed house at Chicago's Allstate Arena, and is set to perform the second of two sold-out shows there tonight. The celebrated singer/songwriter will then travel to New York for his performance at the Madison Square Garden on Sunday, April 6. The stateside tour, Gabriel's first in seven years, is being produced by Cardenas Marketing Network (CMN), and will take the artist to other major cities including Houston, Las Vegas, Los Angeles, Denver and Miami.

Tickets for all remaining shows are now on sale. See below for dates and ticket information.

"El Divo de Juarez," as Gabriel is affectionately known, offered the spirited audience a tour de force performance alongside his mariachi, orchestra and dancers for over two hours, taking them on an electrifying musical journey through his remarkable 45-year career. The generous repertoire included fan favorites such as "Amor Eterno," "Insensible," "He Venido a Pedirte Perdon," "Hasta Que Te Conoci," "El Noa Noa," "Inocente Pobre Amigo," "Asi Fue," and "Siempre En Mi Mente," among others.

Juan Gabriel is considered one of Mexico's most accomplished artists and one of the best-selling Latin recording artists of all-time with over 100 million albums sold. His music spans a variety of genres and remains among the most popular in Latin America and Spain. A six-time Grammy nominee, Gabriel has received countless industry awards, including: ASCAP Songwriter of the Year (1995), Latin Recording Academy's Person of the Year (2009), and a Star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame.
