At the tender age of 67, Lourdes Duque Baron, is taking Hollywood by storm as the breakout music artist of 2014. Baron is the most nominated artist for the L.A.
Music Awards with four nods including: 1) Record of the Year, 2) Female Vocalist, 3) Hot AC Artist, and 4) Best Musical Single or Group. The producer, Andrew Lane, is also up for Producer of the Year, for Baron's album, appropriately entitled "Feeling Good At Any Age."
Baron is in a season of both nostalgia and reality about what it means to be starting a music career at an older age, and her life reflections have become the life and breath of her debut album. "I wanted to make the songs of this album like they're chapters in a book, to try to really capture what I'm thinking about in that season of life," she explains. "This record, to me, is probably one of the most interesting subject-wise. It's a bit retrospective and honors musicians and classics of the past." She continues, "It's an honor for me to be nominated at the LA
Music Awards because it has such a rich history of music talent and has helped launch the careers of so many incredible artists."

The nominees attend two pre-event press releases at the Whisky A Go Go and are given an opportunity to perform for the press. Baron will be performing with AKNU on June 19, 2014 and at the voting party on
September 25, 2014 at the voting party also held at the Whisky A Go Go.
As an accomplished author of two books, Baron is refreshingly candid about the realities of her life. When she sits back to survey her experiences so far, the emotion that rises is one of gratitude, expressed on her favorite track and her tribute to the late Amy Winehouse, "Me and Mr Jones." The retro doo wop ballad finds her taking in a dark chapter of her life when she was estranged from her husband and chronicled in her book, "I Called Myself Cassandra - detailing the wrong turns and heartaches that have allowed her to recognize the gifts in her life and the message of a new sunrise. The album, and the songs chosen, echo these same experiences. "Me and Mr Jones" was recorded with AKNU, the group who enraputed
Simon Cowell on the X-Factor in 2013. The music video for "Me and Mr Jones" can be viewed here:
