Salt Lake City, UT (Simple People Official Website) - Acoustic rock band Simple People today released the first radio single off its new album 'What We Meant from the Beginning,' which was released by River Ranch Records in late 2005. The new single, entitled 'Goodbye,' will be played on hundreds of radio stations nationwide. Simple People is known for its high-energy live shows and eclectic sound that combines folk sensibility with groove-heavy rock 'n' roll. The Utah-based five piece band has been described as a mix of Dave Matthews Band and Bare Naked Ladies with a little bit of Jack Johnson and James Brown thrown in for good measure. 'I hate coming up with a label for our music,' says guitarist/vocalist and founding band member Dan Cutler. 'We don't write our songs around a certain musical genre. We're just trying to get out what's inside us and sometimes that comes out funky, folk-flavored, or straight-up rock 'n' roll.' Speaking of Simple People and the new single, veteran radio promoter Paul Loggins (Loggins Promotion) comments, 'The whole package is here with Simple People. Good, energetic performances encompassing nice melodies and harmonies with a side order of instrument sounds that are just different enough to keep out the generic flavor. 'Goodbye' has top potential at radio. Hands down one of the best groups of 2006!' Simple People toured extensively throughout the western United States over the past two years, but the band is now ready to reach out to a broader audience. 'We're excited to finally get our single out nationwide,' remarks guitarist/vocalist and founding band member Tom Hurtado. 'This is a step we've been working toward for several years now, and we think the time is right to take our music to a larger audience.' The new album, 'What We Meant from the Beginning,' is the band's first release on the River Ranch Records label. Simple People will be touring throughout 2006 in support of the new album and single.
