Madden will guest on 'Chelsea Lately' on November 2nd and Good
Charlotte will appear on FUEL TV's 'The Daily Habit' in mid-November.
Lead single 'Like It's Her Birthday,' tipped by People magazine as one of the 'Hot Singles,' is available now at digital retailers. The accompanying video, lensed by Josh Forbes (Barenaked Ladies, The Fray), has been added to MTV Hits, MTV2, mtvU, FUSE and as a Global Video Priority at MTV International. 'Good Charlotte are multiplatinum scene superstars, but Cardiology might just be their best effort yet,' said Alternative Press, which awarded the album four out of five stars and featured a Q&A with Benji Madden in its October issue. Recorded with longtime producer Don Gilmore (Linkin Park, Avril Lavigne), Cardiology comes almost exactly a decade after the release of the group's self-titled debut.
The band - vocalist Joel Madden, guitarist Benji Madden, guitarist Billy Martin, bassist Paul Thomas and drummer Dean Butterworth, who officially joined the line-up in 2007 and is featured on the cover of the November issue of DRUM! - has sold 10 million records, scored numerous mainstream radio hits (including 'The Anthem,' 'Lifestyles Of The Rich And Famous,' 'Hold On' and Girls and Boys') and toured with everyone from Justin Timberlake to Third Eye Blind. They've appeared on the covers of Rolling Stone and Alternative Press, won an MTV Video Music Award and performed on such shows as 'Saturday Night Live,' 'TODAY,' 'The Tonight Show with Jay Leno,' 'Jimmy Kimmel Live' and 'The Late Late Show with Craig Ferguson.' Good Charlotte will be featured on the cover of the new issue of Kerrang, due out October 23rd.
From the synth-driven party anthem 'Last Night' to slower, more sensitive tracks like '1979' and 'Harlow's Song (Can't Dream Without You),' Cardiology masterfully weaves all of Good Charlotte's disparate musical influences into a fresh, highly personal reflection on the nature of love. Fans who pre-order Cardiology on iTunes will receive the bonus track 'Crash.'
'Obviously we're all in different places in our lives but we're giving our fans that same honesty we always have,' says Joel Madden. 'I get the same feeling of excitement listening to this record that I did when we first started making music.'
'One of the things I'm proudest of about this band is that we don't have two records that sound alike and I think that's helped keep us around,' adds Benji Madden. 'I think there are some elements on this record that will remind people of our first album and then there are some elements that will remind them of Good Morning Revival, too.'
Cardiology is the band's fifth studio album and first on Capitol Records. It follows 2007's Good Morning Revival, which debuted in the Top 10 in 13 countries, including the United States.
