ORLANDO (Top40 Charts/ One Eleven Records) - One Eleven Records and The Fayetteville, NC-based band Rookie of the Year are thrilled to announce their radiant sophomore effort, "Sweet Attention." With over 5 million plays on MySpace and major national tours with artists like Cute is What We Aim For and labelmates The Spill Canvas under their belts, as well as their video for "Liars and Battlelines" (from their debut record) still in heavy rotation on MTVU, it's pretty clear that Rookie of the Year are a band poised to explode.

Rookie of the Year began as a solo project by frontman and vocalist Ryan Dunson. Over the past three years it evolved into a collaborative effort and full band thanks to the addition of some extremely talented musicians: Mike Kamerman and Brendon Schade on guitar and backing vocals, Pat Murphy on bass and Mick Parsons on drums. A band known for their heavy touring schedule and electric live shows, Rookie of the Year have made an indelible impression on the scene they came up in, playing numerous dates on the Vans Warped Tour, rocking out energetic sets at Bamboozle year after year and building their loyal fan base one person and one city at a time. Sweet Attention was recorded in Atlanta, GA at Marigolds+Monsters Studio and produced by Matt Malpass (Copeland).

Their fans aren't the only ones to catch on. Tracks from their debut LP, "The Goodnight Moon," were placed on MTV shows The Hills and Newport Harbour. And online punk mag AbsolutePunk.net, in a glowing review of the first record, wrote: "I instantly fell in love with the gorgeous vocals, lush, soaring choruses, smooth, harmonic guitar leads, and the heaps upon heaps of layers and accents."
