SYDNEY, AU. (Universal Music Australia) - The 2005 ARIA Award nominations were announced today in Sydney. The final five nominees across 28 categories for the 2005 ARIA Awards reflect the remarkable diversity of Australian music talent and feature multiple nominations by a collection of exciting, breakthrough artists. Universal artist and star on the rise, Sarah Blasko received a total of four nominations for her beautiful debut album, 'The Overture and The Underscore'. Favourite rockers, Grinspoon walked away with two nominations for 'Thrills, Kills and Sunday Pills'. Wolfmother scored their first nomination for their self titled EP along with The Bodyrockers who also received a nomination for their single 'I Like the Way' and the ARIA's aren't complete with at least two Powderfinger nominations. Congratulations also to David Nicholas who won the artisan award for Producer of the Year for his work on the Drag album "The Way Out". The 2005 ARIA Awards, are taking place on Sunday October 23rd at the Sydney SuperDome And will be broadcast on Network Ten at 7.30pm.
