New York, NY (Top40 Charts) The news made its way through the Grateful Dead grapevine that John Mayer will be playing the unofficial role of the late, great Jerry Garcia, but Mayor quickly squashed the notion that he in any way can replace the iconic legend.
Instead, he will be infusing his many talents with three of the surviving members of the band, which will more than likely create a live show and a sound that Dead fans across the spectrum will get behind.
When a medium-sized sprinkling of shows was initially announced, it was seen as a clear indication that Dead & Company is serious about moving forward with their talents and sharing the signature sound of the greatest folk rock band of all time.
With the latest news that the tour has now been bolstered to almost 2 dozen stops, fans in cities that have yet to be included in the fold wait with anxious anticipation for Dead & Company to add shows.
The First Niagara Center in Buffalo, New York will be the site of a November 11 show, followed two days later by a performance at the Nationwide Arena in Columbus, Ohio. Greensboro, Atlanta, Nashville, St. Louis and Minneapolis will all be visited in the following week before the tour wraps with two shows in Broomfield, Colorado and two in Las Vegas, Nevada.
