Detroit, MI (Top40 Charts/ Visionmoore Music Group) - Singer, songwriter and keyboardist Deborah Kay and her original song, "So Alive" have won "Best International Artist" for the 2010 MusicOz Awards. The awards show was held on Friday, March 26, 2010 at Sydney Town Hall in Sydney, Australia. On the night of the MusicOz Awards, MTV Australia filmed the ceremony. Kay attended the Awards Show in Australia to pickup her winning trophy and prizes. Later that night, Kay performed at the Awards show prestigious Industry Party. "I'm so excited that I won," says Kay, a former Detroit school teacher turned singer. "I'm honored that a song I wrote and performed has struck an accord with listeners thousands of miles from Detroit. I'm looking forward to coming back to Australia on a mini tour."

Music artists representing various music genres and numerous countries from around the world were nominated. The winners will receive record deals and artist development and prizes totaling more than $200,000. In addition, winners will be booked for international television, radio and live appearances and performances. Considered Australia's premier music awards show for unsigned and independent artists, the MusicOz Awards' past winners have signed recording deals with a number of record companies, to include Universal Music, Elusive Records, Warner Music, and Sony/BMG.

"So Alive" is from Kay's debut independent CD, "Love Stories," which was released last year. Several months ago, Kay's songs from the CD, "So Alive" and "Love Everlasting" also received nominations for The Independent Singer-Songwriters Association's "2009 Christian Contemporary Singer-Songwriter of the Year" contest. Over the last few years, Kay has performed or recorded with such national artists as Ronnie Laws, Carl Carlton, Kim Waters, Earl Klugh, Run DMC, Billy Preston, Gene Dunlap and Lin Rountree.
